What a day! I was sitting in the shade reading when a hawk flew right up into the tree above me calling out. Amazed, I snapped a bunch of pictures and took an audio recording of the calls. No sooner did I put my camera down when a mama deer stepped out of the brush followed by three spotted fawns. I watched her watching me, grazing timidly while the fawns played. My first time seeing deer in the arb. I heard there used to be a lot more of them but I figure the fragmented corridors for the most discourage them?
